Its beginning to look a little like Christmas....

Well, that time of year again.... Christmas Time!!!! In our household, it is a must to wait until after Thanksgiving to start decorating for Christmas. The reason for this is because both Hubs and my birthdays are during the Thanksgiving week.. All the department stores and retail stores jump the gun and start decorating for Christmas right after Halloween... So we try to remember that there is still the whole month of November to celebrate another important holiday!!!! :) So, now that we are done celebrating Thanksgiving.... Bring on Christmas!!!

First of all, it would not feel like Christmas without cold weather.... And lucky for us, the temperature here has been way below normal.. Today's high was in the 50s... So it was definitely very chilly today... And I absolutely loved it!! What would be the best is to have snow tooo!! Not that that will happen here in the middle of nowhere, Texas! Oh well, I can wish!! :) Maybe when we go home for Christmas I can see some snow... :)

Soo we started to decorate our house a little... This is just the beginning stages.. Being a newly married couple, we have to start accumulating decorations.. This is what we have come up with so far....

Hubs decided he would be adventurous and put up lights!

Boys hard at work!

This is what happens when you are outside and 5:00pm hits! The national anthem plays everyday at 5:00pm.. The boys just happened to get stuck on the roof! :)

Here is how everything looks..

This is what the lights look like at night... Yay! :)

We have a wreath on our front door!!

Semi decorated inside...

This is how I get the house to feel a little bit more like the holidays!! Vanilla, Pine and Cinnamon candles!

And an Autumn Wreath candle!!

Just like the house... It is slowly coming along...

I love Christmas time!!! And I cannot wait to go home and celebrate with everyone! :)

I know... I am a horrible blogger already!

So, you would think I would be updating my blog every day!! Hey, what else do I have to do here in middle of no where? Haha!!! Well believe it or not, I have been really busy!! Unpacking really takes forever!! I know its really small, but it has taken a lot of time!! Which is weird because I do not feel like we have the much stuff!!! Also, Hubbs has been a slave driver when it comes to unpacking! We finally got all of our stuff delivered on Sunday, November 2nd. By day two, he was already tired of boxes! So yes, as of today.. All boxes are banished from our house!! Seems like we have made daily trips to Wal-Mart to pick up something we needed for the house! Needless to say, we have pretty much kept Wal-Mart in business lately! But things are slowly coming together.. Here are a few pictures of the house so far..

Beginning the whole process..... Lovely boxes filling our living room and kitchen

Our living room.. Ignore Hubs... He is enjoying time off before training begins.. 1 week!

Our kitchen! I used to thinking it was very spacious!

Our room!! Much need of more decorating!!

This room I have dubbed "Man land..." Aka Hubs' office! This is where he will be spending most of his time at home come next Monday!

One of our bathrooms..

So with birthdays coming up.. I know what I want... An interior designer!!! :) I honestly need one!! My house is soo dull!! Maybe it is all the white!!! It did not come with carpet, only linoleum!! So maybe thats why I feel like I have no taste in decorating!!! It needs a lot of help!!

On to other things!!! We have been out to a few social events, if you want to call them that!! We ended up going to a party last weekend and meeting a lot of great people!!! One of the couples we met ended up moving right behind our house!! So we have been getting to know them and a small group of other people! Its been great!! All the guys start class together on the the 23rd! We even had an impromptu party at our house on Saturday.. We made tones of food, dips, quiches and wings! I was so busy, I didn't even get to take pictures!! But it was a lot of fun!!! We even had a special visitor!! Katie came over from San Antonio for the night!! It really was a lot of fun having everyone at our house!! It would have been a little better had Auburn won.. But we still had a great time!!!

All in all, we are getting settled in here in Del Rio! I promise I will start to update more often!!!

Thank you Mastard Card

Total Mileage...................................................... 1,114 miles
Gas and Food....................................................... $200
Car wash to clean 2.5 billion dead bugs on our cars........ $10.00
Getting our first home........................................... Priceless

There are some things money can't buy. For everything else there is Master Card. :)

Hahah!! I just thought this was a funny way of telling everyone that the Hubbs and I are finally first time home owners!! ***applause**** Yes, it is a military house but its our house!!! And even better, we thought we were getting a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom.. But we actually got a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath. And we have a fenced in back yard, with a seating area.. Yay!!! It may seem like a little thing.. But to us its a big thing!!! :)

Now, if we could just get our household goods delivered, everything would be great!! Its funny because everyone says that normally yours house hold goods are here and ready to move in before you ever get a house.. Going with how everything else has been, the military decided to do things different with us.. We got our house first and then we'll get our stuff.. So for the time being, were staying in the nice, cozy hotel on base. Keep your fingers crossed they get delivered on Saturday!!!

Here are a few pictures of our house!! :) I'll update pictures as we get things put together!!

This is the bathroom, looking from the hallway.

This is our house from the outside!!

I'll continue to update as I can!!

Jumping on the Bandwagon...

Ok! Go ahead and say it... {waiting.............}

Yes, after much diliberation, I have finally taken the plunge and started a blog. I figured that other than calling everyone, everyday and telling them about whats going on.. That this is going to be the best way to keep everyone updated on our lives out here in Texas! I hope that you can find this imformative and amusing at the same time!

I am just beginning, so be patient and enjoy!!
